Domains overview

Each mailbox is created on one of your domains, for example john@yourdomain.com. Sending cold email from separate domains protects the reputation of your main business domain.

Buying a domain

Search for an available domain and buy it in LeadTrain for 5,000 credits. Buying needs a paid plan. The domain is registered for a year and its DNS records are set up for you.

Connecting your own domain

Enter a domain you own, and LeadTrain gives you nameservers to set at your registrar. The change usually shows within an hour and can take up to 48 hours. LeadTrain then sets up the DNS records.

DNS records

LeadTrain sets up SPF, three DKIM CNAME records for Amazon SES, DMARC, and MX so that replies reach you. The subdomain i.yourdomain.com is the envelope (MAIL FROM) domain, where bounces go. Your emails go out From the address on your own domain.

Domain status

LeadTrain checks the domain every 2 minutes. The statuses are Buying, Purchased, Waiting for nameservers, Setting up DNS, Verifying email, Active, Setup problem and Suspended. If setup stalls, use Check again or Retry setup on the domain page.

Domain health

The domain page shows Delivered, Bounced, Spam complaints and Sent for the last 24 hours, and the Reputation of each mailbox on the domain.
